Stookey Blue - Folk / Ceilidh Band

Stookey Blue is a Norwich / Norfolk-based folk / ceilidh band.

Our ceilidhs are a really great way to celebrate your event, they are suitable for people of all ages to join together and share fun and laughter dancing together. Our caller will help you learn the steps before you dance to the music.

We also offer folk music performances and background folk music, we play UK folk tunes from Ireland, Scotland, England, as well as some local Norfolk tunes; so we have suitable tunes for St Patrick's day, Burn's Night or St George's day. We have our own PA system for larger events but can play acoustically, for smaller events, if you prefer. The instruments the band members play include: fiddle, guitar, banjo, accordion, whistle and flute.

Contact us for information about ceilidh dancing or music for your personal, family or corporate event: birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, away days, team building. We can offer reduced rates for charities and educational bodies. The band has a variable line up, usually 3 or 4 of our musicians will play for your event.

The band runs a folk music session in the Rumsey Wells pub, 4 St Andrews St, Norwich, NR2 4AF on a Monday evening. The session starts from 7:30 onwards. Anyone is welcome to come along to listen or join in. If you are a musician and you'd like to play, please follow folk session etiquette. This is not a slow session, so you'll need to be able to play folk music to a reasonable standard.

The band is available for hire for public and private parties, weddings, fetes, fairs, festivals, street parties - in fact any event for which folk music or ceilidh music and dance is suitable. Please contact us for more details.
